THE FRUIT OF LOVE

Bible text: 1 John 4:17-5:5

Real Love has the power to do what nothing else can

I. HOW LOVE IS PERFECTED

Read 1 John 4:17-18

Read 1 John 2:28

How is love perfected? By losing our fear of judgement

II. HOW LOVE IS PRIORITIZED

Read 1 John 4:19

“God does not love because of our works. He loves because of His love.” – Luther

The Love Of God (hymn)

“The love of God is great far

Than tongue or pen can ever tell.

 It goes beyond the highest star

And reaches to the lowest Hell.

The guilty pair, bowed down with care

God gave His son to win

His erring child, He reconciled

And pardoned from his sin”

III. HOW LOVE IS PROVEN

Read 1 John 4:20-21

You are not an “only child” in the family of God

5 Tests of a True Believer

  1. The Faith Test
  2. The Life Test
  3. The Growth Test
  4. The Sin Test
  5. The Love Test

IV.  WHAT LOVE PRODUCES

Read 1 John 5:1-5

Love produces freedom in 2 areas:

  1. Joy
  2. Victory
