Sermon: In – Around – Through

Sermon by Pastor Tim Block / September 26, 2021

Series: Holy Spirit

Main Bible Text: John 3:30

John 3:30 “He must increase, but I must decrease.”

Insecurity comes from:

  • What can I do? What can’t I do?
  • What do people think of me?

3 Simple Words to Break Us Free from Insecurity:

I DON’T CARE.

I MUST DECREASE.

HE MUST INCREASE.

How does God increase in our heart? WORSHIP.

WORSHIP BREAKS THE CHAINS OF INSECURITY

Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ..”

Three Truths about the Holy Spirit:

1.The Holy Spirit is at work AROUND you (John 16:8)

“And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”

The Holy Spirit is showing people their need for Jesus.

Jesus came and lived a perfect life.

Jesus died on the cross for our sins.

Jesus rose again, purchasing our forgiveness.

2.The Holy Spirit is working IN you (John 15:26)

“But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.”

This verse is specifically for the believer. The Holy Spirit is working in your heart.

3.The Holy Spirit can work THROUGH us (John 15:27)

“And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.”
