Now What Should We Do?

Main Bible Text: Galatians 6:9

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. ” GALATIANS 6:9

I. KEEP ON TRUSTING HIM

…the LORD giveth, and the LORD taketh away; blessed be the name of the LORD.  (Job 1:21)

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he should stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God.  (Job 19:25-26)

For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf. (2 Corinthians 1:8-11)

II. KEEP ON PRAISING HIM

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.  (Psalm 103:1-5)

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. (Habakkuk 3:17-18)

As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday. Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. (Psalm 42:1-5)

I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God? Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. (Psalm 42:9-11)

“While I was in the hospital, the LORD through loving ministry friends provided my family with a lovely condominium in downtown Columbus. On the eighth floor with two walls of windows looking out to the city, it became a haven for my husband as he went to and from the hospital daily. Also, a place of rest for our daughters as they could only see me via Facetime, butcared for their dad with food and support as he came in and out. We were blessed to begin the healing process there for two weeks after the hospital stay.

Friends from Cincinnati kindly brought a hospital bed and table for me. They even took it to our home when I got to go home! See how good the LORD is when we are at our lowest? He is there to meet needs and uplift our spirits! ‘Faithful is He…’

Before we move on, I want to mention a few special gifts God gave me through that condo: the view looking out at the city was a good distraction for my mind. The view included church bells ringing, a group of birds always on the move, beautiful Christmas lights, etc. God can use small things to renew our minds. The condo was roomy for all to have their space. Lastly, it was peaceful, perfect for healing and bedrest.”

     “Presently, we are in the radiation/chemo phase of healing. Five days per week for 5 weeks of radiation; one of those days’ weekly chemo, also. Going downtown daily is tiring. Looking to God to be my sufficiency. He recently gave me 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 to hold onto – ‘rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS’ for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”  -Joy Snook

III. KEEP ON SERVING HIM

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (Galatians 6:9)

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58)

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
