How to See Jesus in 2024

Goals for the new year are important. But goals for life are more important.
Read Luke 2:21-38
The character traits that allowed two people (Simeon and Anna) the privilege to see Jesus:
I. BOTH WERE AGED
Read Proverbs 16:31, 2 Kings 22:2, 2 Kings 23:3
II. BOTH WERE ATTENTIVE
v. 25 “…just and devout… and the Holy Spirit was upon them.”
v. 37 “…serve God with fasting and prayer.”
“Devout” = cautious, careful, deliberate
It takes discipline to see God in 2024:
Read Philippians 3:14, 1 Corinthians 9:25-26
Training is more important than trying.

plan or a life plan, but when
the action starts, you’re down

If you cheated on that in the
dark of the morning, you’re

Simeon and Anna were attentive to what really mattered in life
III. BOTH WERE ALERT
Read Romans 13:11-12
Both Simeon and Anna were expecting the Messiah – every day.
IV. BOTH WERE ASSURED
Read Luke 2:26
A. Both rested in His promise
B. Both were ready to die
