Are You Available? | Part II

January 21, 2024 / Pastor Brent Snook / Acts 21:13

Sermon by Pastor Brent Snook / Jan 21, 2024

Bible text: Acts 21:13

Availability: “To place oneself totally at God’s disposal, for God to do anything and everything, in you, and through you, and with you and to you that He chooses.”

Recap from last sermon:

I. Abraham was available to do the will of God

II. Jacob  was available to walk with God

II. Noah was available to work for God

Today, we explore 3 other characters in the Old Testament who were available for God

IV. MOSES WAS AVAILABLE TO WORSHIP GOD

Read Exodus 3:2-4

A. Response: “Here Am I”

When Moses confronted deity, he fell to the ground to worship

Read Psalm 96:9, Philippians 3:3 and John 4:24

WORSHIP: honor and reverence shown to God

“To worship is to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God
to feed the mind with the truth of God
to purge the imagination by the beauty of God
to open up the heart to the love of God
to devote the will to the purpose of God.”

Worship is giving to God the best He has given us. – Oswald Chambers

Matthew 22:37 – “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all
thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”

B. Result: out of Moses’ worship came his work

Martin Luther – “Work, work, from morning till dawn – so much work to do, I must
spend first 3 hours in prayer.”

V. SAMUEL WAS AVAILABLE TO WAIT ON GOD

Read 1 Samuel 3:4-6, 3:8, 3:16

A. Response: “Here Am I”

The Bible has much to say about waiting on God

  • Psalm 25:5
  • Psalm 27:14
  • Isaiah 40:31

Q: How about your waiting?

Waiting may be the hardest thing we are called to do.

God is never ahead of time.
He is never a second late.

Read Isaiah 40:31

B. Result: Samuel became a prophet of God

VI. ISAIAH WAS AVAILABLE TO WITNESS FOR GOD

Read Isaiah 6:8

A. Response: “Here Am I”

Jesus’ #1 mission while on earth was to seek and save the lost. Is that the mission of your life?

Practical Ways to Share Jesus

  1. Share the Gospel
  2. Invite People to Church
  3. Gospel Tracts
  4. Care for People
  5. Live a Godly Life

B. Result: people let to God Jehovah

Q: Are you available to witness for God?
