I. THE BENEFITS OF A CHRISTIAN HOME
A. Christians live longer and healthier
Read Psalm 128:1, 5-6
Read Proverbs 10:27, Exodus 20:12
B. Christians are more successful in their
Read Psalm 128:2,4
Read Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:1-3, Genesis 39:1-3
“The church is interwoven in every facet of our life. In
the corporate world, those who have faith do better
than those who do not. Fortune Magazine revealed
that 91% of the CEO’s of the ‘Fortune 500 Companies’
claimed a church affiliation, indicating that to a
degree their accomplishments were a result of the
value they learned either in church or the Bible. Since
54% came from lower middle class or poor families,
the evidence is good that the church played a role in
their accomplishments.” – Zig Ziglar
C. Christians are more capable to pass on their
Read Psalm 128:3
“Several years ago, a survey revealed that when
mom and dad took (not sent) their children to
church, 76% of the children followed their
parents in their faith. If only the father took the
children to church the percentage dropped to
55%. Interestingly enough, if only the mother
took the children to church, the percentage
dropped to 15%. If neither took the children to
church, only 9% became active Christians.”
II. THE BEHAVIOR OF A CONSISTENT HERITAGE
Read Proverbs 17:6b, Proverbs 23:24, 1 Corinthians 11:1
“Whatever parent gives his children good
instruction, and sets before them at the same
time a bad example, may be considered as
bringing them food in one hand and poison in
the other hand.” David Jeremiah
“Don’t you think it would be easier to change
you than to try to change two, three, or four
children? If you are the one who is causing all of
this, instead of trying to change your children,
why don’t you change you and then, when they
see you, they will change.” Charles Swindoll
